The Norse gods were smiling on me today. The heavy rain predicted to fall all day only showed up for an hour and a half before settling into grey overcast for the rest of my ride.
The scenery today was much the same as yesterday until I got a little closer to the national park and started seeing the glaciers and icebergs.
The black sand beaches also came into view, blending well with the steel-grey Atlantic Ocean and overcast sky.
On paper my ride looked like there would be a lot of ups and downs to tire me out, but I actually kept up a pretty good pace. I think I must have had a bit of tailwind because I felt strong all day.
Even if I stretch the last four rides into five, I'll still get into Reykjavik two days too early. I need to schedule in some extra sightseeing to kill some time between now and then.
